Viking longboat

Largs, where I grew up, has a strong Viking heritage. In 1063 the Battle of Largs saw the defeat of King Haakon and his Norsemen who were in the process of rampaging down the west coast of Scotland.
The town celebrates the battle every year and this longboat stands outside the Vikingar centre, also known as Barrfields.
