The Boot Inn, Histon, Cambs.
Visiting Histon, first stop for lunch, this pub. A 17th Century Inn, known as 'The Boot' since 1680, and previously with stabling for 9 horses. It faces the village green. In the garden is the old Brewhouse and a large boulder knocked off it's plinth. Legend has it that the Histon Giant, Moses Carter 1801-60, carried it here as a bet. The boulder has been incorporated into the Histon Village sign.
