Little by Little
A beautiful sunny day in the Lake District , and we decided to walk up Bowfell, the sixth highest Wainwright.
We also took in the top of another Wainwright, Pike of Stickle. Great names!
The photo shows the cairn at the top of Pike of Stickle. Then apparently we missed another one, Rossett Pike. Never mind it's a lovely place to walk so we shall have to go up there again.
It seemed such a long relentless slog down after the summit, the valley floor just didn't seem to get any closer for ages, but eventually little by little it drew nearer until finally we were down.
It was a long day, and after food at the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub, we didn't get home until after dark.
Just time to watch Line of Duty and an early night I think.
The extra shows a group of Herdwick sheep at a farm on the way down. Love Herdies!
