Grasmere

Today's the day ............................. to take the smooth with the rough

Sometimes I just love my job. Sometimes, of course, it's not so good - but not today. Today I had to go to a meeting at Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth in the little village of Grasmere.

And that involved a drive along the shores of Windermere to Ambleside with a stunning view all the way to the Langdale Fells. Then past Rydal Water which was so still that it looked like glass - and on to Grasmere itself.

Sometimes, I just love my job ..............................
