Aerial view of Edinburgh

Seen at the Scottish Portrait Gallery on a visit to an exhibition called "The View From Here", a selection of landscape photographs from the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland. I have seen this photo before, not surprisingly - it must get regular outings.

Taking this photo involved leaning out of a plane with a heavy plate camera, but this didn't seem to worry Buckham, who wrote: "If one's right leg is tied to the seat with a scarf or piece of rope, it is possible to work in perfect security." 

The picture is made up from several negatives - Buckham was there way ahead of Photoshop.
