Jewels

Treated myself to the opening performance of George Balanchine's Jewels by the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House this afternoon. No plot, just three sparkling acts: Emeralds with music by Faure, Rubies (Stravinsky) and Diamonds (Tchaikovsky). I enjoyed them all but in this performance most of the sparkle came in the third act and the ROH ceiling seemed to exemplify that.
