Magnolia stellata

This little magnolia is in a pot, and has survived massive neglect over the last few years.  I had it in Lenwade, and since we moved it has had almost no attention.  Despite that, it is generously giving us half a dozen beautiful flowers this year. 

We have promised to feed it and probably plant it out into the garden this year!

I spent the afternoon planting up hanging baskets - we just need to be careful to protect them if it threatens frost!  I was closely supervised by our visiting hen.
