Water Garden at Fountains Abbey

When I took an Architecture Appreciation course at the Wrinklies Uni, the tutor made a great fuss of Fountains Abbey near Ripon. No wonder!  What a place!

Breaking our journey because I'm not up to sharing the driving fairly at the moment, we paid a visit to the Abbey and I managed to walk enough to get a good idea of the beauty and extent of the place.  Also took me back to the 'Medieval Monasteries' part of my secondary school history classes.

Now spending the night at a well known popular Inn then on to the Flatlands
