The Jobless Wonder...
His euphoria didn't last long! ;-)))
I had a lovely lie in till 11.30 when I texted David to see if he was still in the land of the living after his leaving night out. Not only was he up, but he'd had full cooked breakfast too!
I made it downstairs just in time to put the last of the banners and balloons up before he came in the door looking very pleased with himself and life in general. He even brought M&S sandwiches for lunch.
He got a great send off last night and I'm so pleased. Said he woke up this morning and his thoughts automatically turned to work for a few moments then he remembered it's not his responsibility any more. A great feeling!
Home now and after a leisurely post lunch coffee, I've put him to work getting the rest of the new dining room chairs out of their boxes and into position around the table.
He'll get a night off tonight as we go out to celebrate this momentous occasion and maybe tomorrow too, but starting on Monday I am registering him on the local Bob-a-Job scheme.
And we are adopting Ele's famed retirement mantra of Chores before Treats!
Maybe ;-)
