The Future

The future of El Cedro lies in the hands of the young.  AMOS Health and Hope walks alongside community members listening, collectively reflecting, and taking action together.  Capacity is built within the local community one person at a time, always carefully considering the needs of locals. While our team helped work on water filters, first aid training and other activities, it's the relationships that stand out to me.  The people of El Cedro are gracious, beautiful and would give you their last bite of food as a sign of respect and love. This is not an exaggeration at all, as one of our filter teams was given a chicken as a token of appreciation.  The gift of that chicken represents everything I hope to be - selfless, giving, truly appreciative of all those around me.  I'm still working on all of this, but the trip has certainly made me think more deeply.  Now it's time to take action.
