Purple Emperor

I walked the butterfly transect yesterday afternoon and saw my first purple emperor. I also discovered that the problem with having everything set to manual on your camera is that by the time you're ready the emperor has gone! Anyway, this is the rather nice woodland clearing where it appeared. I shall return, camera at the ready, to see if it re-appears another day.
