Greetings from Mars...

...or least from the owner of Mars Bar & Cafe in Bang Niang, Khao Lak!

This is Brit expat Marcel who is a most friendly and welcoming host. Although Mrs E and I adore Thai food, we also like to fit in the occasional Brit style meal. So today at Mars Bar we each had pie, mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy. It was 'home made' and superb! It's nice to find a place offering such a range (including plenty of veggie options) of cracking, freshly prepared food. I also liked his choice of art pinned to the shelves behind him! Normal service was resumed in the evening as we ate at a superb Thai restaurant.

Massive Mars

Not a great day for weather in as we awoke to gale force winds and torrential rain. Although we had a brief, sunny interlude, it's been raining on and off for most of the day. It looks like the weather at home has improved and no doubt will remain like that until our return!
