Success!
Last week I found out how the cool 360° panoramas on Facebook are generated, but not with an Android phone. After a bit of searching, downloading the Google camera and some failed experiments, I've just uploaded this image to Facebook and it "works". So I've saved myself the cost of an iPhone ;-)
What interested me more about the panoramas was that of the two panoramas my student took on her iPhone last week, one looked great as a still image because it was taken in an oval room, but the other was taken in a square courtyard and looked awful as a still, due to the projection onto a rectangle. When displayed on Facebook it looked fine, though. It all comes down to maths, but not my sort!
