Morcheeba - Bullet Proof

I was introduced to hip-hop when I was very young but I wasn't introduced to the "lounge" or alternative hip-hop until I was about 15. I was in love at the time and the girl whom I was infatuated with had recommended me a whole bunch of CDs and made me a mixtape. Morcheeba, UNKLE, A Tribe Called Quest and David Holmes were amongst the artist that I still listen to today. At the time I willfully listened to understand her, but I didn't "feel" it at the time. I was into alternative music then so hip-hop wasn't particularly expansive for a high-schooler in Australia. Thankfully, the time came when I would love the swing and swagger of a gorgeous hip-hop beat and looking back at a lot of music I grew up listening to, I notice how much of an influence it's had on me without me knowing. I lauded over Arrested Development's first major album without even consciously knowing it was hip-hop!?!?!

It's funny how things change after time, particularly your own perspectives.
