Katie had no activities after school tonight. We had to pop to the shop to get a couple of bits for the final of her festival dresses and she wanted to choose something different as a snack, though ended up having tea.

She's working so hard for the festival, we kind of want to just get on with it now though. B is away and Katie's missing her, missing her lessons. I'm dreading the next time she's away for a month already. When she was doing some piano tonight I made a start on the dress. Bless her, she was so excited and even when shed got into bed to do some reading she obligingly came and tried her bodice on and then came to try it again when I had added the skirt. This dress has a fair bit of detailing I rarely use- like a handmade belt, the pleated trim and it's a full circle skirt that is going to have a hand pleated ruffle hem. The bodice sparkles too.
