Bird of Paradise flower

We were further up the coast today, at Javea.....
and saw these wonderfully exotic Strelitzia flowers....with their banana like leaves.
The flowers look like the heads of exotic crested birds....hence their name!......and they were looking fabulous today in the morning sunshine......
....we have no success growing these flowers in our garden, but elsewhere in the area, they seem to grow like weeds!!
