Pasqueflower revisited

Today's the day .......................... to open

I thought you might like to see what the Pasqueflower looked like when the flower opened.

Considering how much rain we've had over the past few days, it must have been wondering why it bothered.  It was much more snug when it was firmly closed, protected by its hairy coat.  But there we are, time marches on and exposed to the elements it is.

After Kendal's bad experience a year a year or so ago with the flooding, everyone is rather nervous now when we have a prolonged spell of rain.  The water level in the River Kent is very high today.  You can't help thinking that there's all the rain that has fallen higher up on the fells, that has to make its way down somehow.

It's likely to get worse before it gets better ..................
