Finger food

There was no cutlery on the table at the restaurant I went to last night. They hadn't forgotten - it was an Ethiopian restaurant and here you eat with your hands! Saves on the washing up I suppose. We chose the Discovery Menu and were presented with a giant pancake with spoonfuls of meat and veg arranged a bit like a pizza and a bowl of rolled up pancakes. The idea is to pull off a bit of the pancake roll and mop up some food. The tradition is not to eat the first one yourself but to offer it to someone at the table. That's when you hope everyone washed their hands before dinner!
