Cheering up

To be honest, it's been a pretty dispiriting day, professionally and personally, for me today.

I was somewhat cheered up by going along to a lecture to mark the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome by Fiona Hyslop, on the topic of Scotland: a European nation. She was interesting in some of the things she said in the Q&A. From this I gleaned the germ of an idea as to what the new project fear might be: the suggestion that what Tories **really** want out of Brexit is to roll back devolution. This is partly based on the populist supposition that there are quite a few fifth columnists in the Scottish Parliament who don't value it and aren't loyal to it. Let's see how that narrative develops.
