Harvesting

The maize was harvested today, although it was a later start than we anticipated as the weather wasn't co-operating. 

It's interesting watching the work going on.  Unfortunately this was taken on my phone, so the quality isn't all the best, but it does give you a general idea of how it is done.

So the maize is all in the pit, and the pit is covered.  It will be a month before we can start using it, or it can just sit in there until it gets fed out over winter.
