Can you do this??

I went for a walk around the farm this afternoon looking for a photo for today. At the end of my walk, I wasn't really that happy with any of the photo's that I had taken, so I decided to go and visit the calves in their paddock. The sun was out for a brief moment, and most of the calves were sleeping, enjoying a bit of warmth on their backs.

I lay down on my stomach in the paddock (careful not to lie in any calf poo!), and took a few shots of the calves having a few zzzzzzzzzz. However, once they saw me lying in their paddock, their inquisitiveness got the better of them and they wondered over to me to have a look at what I was doing. I just lay there - several of them started licking and nibbling at my wet weather pants that I had on, and others just stood there looking, until such time as they didn't like the noise of the camera going, and moved back in panic as they hadn't heard that noise up close before.

This little calf just stood there and started licking her nostril. I thought it was rather sweet, and very clever of her to be able to reach that far!

We have a fresh dusting of snow on the mountain tops, and along with the rain and wind that we are experiencing today, it is a rather cool damp day.
