Temptation!
I didn't succumb last night to the temptations of the previous night - no coffee and brandy - but once the friends left I did give in to the chocolate truffles and the recording of Broadchurch, which meant I was late to bed. Consequently I was jaded again this morning.
However I made it to the gym. Then I had the follow-up appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon. He showed me a gruesome picture of the needle going in to my foot, which I didn't have the foresight to blip. I can phone his secretary no sooner than 4 months to request a second injection if I'm in need, but after that we must reconsider the option of surgery.
Then we headed to town. Mr C took Nathaniel to the DIY store while I picked up Ella from school. She and I got the metro to town as I needed to replace my watch strap which was falling to bits. To get to Timpsons we had to pass through Fenwicks food hall which had an amazing display of very fancy and expensive Easter eggs, bunnies etc. More temptation. Ella found a little egg for her and Nathaniel then we went to a cafe where I had a coffee and she got a treat of cake.
On the metro on the way home she asked the woman beside us why her face was yellow. She said she was Chinese, but her little boy had a British dad so he was not as yellow. Ella then guessed his age as 3 and said her brother was also 3. Apparently Ella and her friends at school have been talking about them being brown and she is peach.
Back home she was really keen to read her new reading books and did them well. When her mum got home she read them again. Then again to her Auntie when she arrived. #3 daughter's treasure hunt games with clues has really motivated her at last.
After they were both in bed Mr C and I treated the daughters to a meal at Zonzo. It is ages since we've been there and it was good to have a chance to chat without the children.
