An ordinary life....

Drip shot....

Had about 30 seconds with the camera today and only took 5 photos, none of them worth writing home about. Couldn't even be arsed to choose which one to blip so gave D the choice and he chose this one because one of the house windows is reflected in the drip!

Warning.....rant ahead!

I'm blipping very late in the day which usually means less views so taking the opportunity to let my inner grump loose!

Since we moved house we have had cause to order a fair bit of stuff online and I am totally and utterly pissed off at the number of orders that have been delivered with wrong, damaged or faulty goods!

I could understand it if we were buying cheap crap from some half price bargain ompanies but we're not! Here are some examples of what I'm talking about -

Tumble drier from John Lewis - damaged
Wrought iron umberella stand - faulty
Wardrobe - Laura Ashley - faulty and damaged
Standard Lamp - Dwell - faulty
Chests of drawers - Gillies - wrong size ordered by sales assistant
Large wall picture frame - The White Company - glass smashed to smithereens
Electronic height adjustable changing bed for Alan - faulty (waiting for new part since June!)

I could go on by I can feel my BP rising so will stop.

It is all such a bloody inconvenince as you have to wait about 8-12 weeks for delivery in the first instance, then you have to stay in all day awaiting the delivery, then you have to wait in all day for the return to be collected then you have to wait weeks for it to be re-delivered and wait in again for the delivery! Arrrrggghhhhhhh!!!

*Deep breaths*

And today didn't go quite according to plan. Alan still off school so spent a large chunk of the day with him. Marion came up late afternoon and arrived having just been stung on the tummy by a wasp! By the time we finished dousing her in malt vinegar we were both in the mood for a bag of chippy chips! We resisted *polishes halo* :-)

Then early evening had a visit from our other neighbour Isobel who I hadn't met before (David met her a few weeks ago) who popped in to say hello and discuss some very tall trees in her garden that over hang our garden. She is planning to have them cut and tamed and just wanted to let us know.

Isobel is retired, in her mid 60s I would guess and within a few minute of being in her company I just know we are going to get on like a house on fire! She has that twinkle in her eye that I like and she's lived in the house next door since 1962 so has LOTS of stories to tell. I think a wee Bombay Sapphire will be the order of the day next time she visits ;-)))

Ooo time to go before this technically becomes a backblip!!
