Lake Bled

Today we headed north from Ljubljana to Lake Bled. My daughter had chosen to celebrate her 40th birthday there and she couldn't have chosen a more beautiful location. As an added bonus the weather was just glorious.

We had the most wonderful day. Firstly we sailed out to the small island and spent time enjoying the views whilst sipping drinks on the terrace. The ladies spent (quite) some time in the souvenir shop too!

On returning to Bled we took a taxi up to the castle where we had a delicious meal in the restaurant overlooking the lake. We walked down the hill slowly and sat at the lakeside drinking (in the views!) before returning to Ljubljana.

It is a day that will live long in the memory. Mrs CBL and I are very proud of all that our lovely daughter has achieved in life. We are delighted that she and her ever patient husband invited us along to share in this very special occasion.
