Easy way out. Collage.
I took 250+ pictures of which I saved perhaps 1/3. No way I could choose only one. Well, there was one picture that was so bad, that it was actually quite good... That could have been the One.
All the pictures from Batería de Castillitos and the Batería de Jorel next to it. Both situated in Cabo Tiñoso in Cartagena. As you can see there's British Vickers cannons in this military base. The place was built around 1926. This is the other counterpart for the La Batería de las Cenizas which we visited a year ago.
This has been recently opened because they had to secure the road and the base. You can drive all the way to the base, but the last 10km is terrible. It's narrow serpentine road on the side of the mountain and cars go both ways even if there's not that much room to pass each other. I feel like it was one of the longest 10km of my life. I would not go there during weekend or summer. Way too much traffic!
Funnily the weather forecast said it would be much warmer in Santa Pola than in Cartagena. We were soaking in Cartagena and freezing when we came back here. It was just the opposite and we were hoping it would be better for the dogs having cooler air down there.
