Venezia ~ Day Uno

Up at 4am to get ready for our early flight to Venice. Arrived at our hotel about 11 (local time) and we were welcomed with a glass of prosecco, which we took in the garden and as they overheard us wish dad a happy birthday they brought out some chocolate cake with a candle in it. Fantastic start to our mini break.

We were not able to get to our room until 2pm so we went off to explore the local area. The sun was shining and all was hunky dory. We returned to the hotel to unpack and have a much needed afternoon nap ( dad was given a bottle of prosecco in his room which we shared before we went out for dinner). Back out for supper. We (and they) got a little confused with our entrees, starters and mains so everything came out at different times and the long and the short is that we ordered too much food but we ate it all and felt incredibly full afterwards. Mum and dad were still exhausted so we took them back to the hotel and Mr C and I went for a short evening stroll.
