Resolutions

Today was a very relaxing entry into the new year. Ryan spent the majority of the day, playing Everquest and I satisfied my addiction to the Twilight Zone. When my brother and I were younger, we used to spend overnights with our dad and I remember staying up late to watch the Twilight Zone, so when they have the 48-hour marathon this time of year, I try to watch a whole bunch of episodes. It makes me feel a little bit like a kid again, which is never a bad thing as we grow older. Rekindling memories of our childhood is a link to being forever young.

I also had a chance to think about the upcoming year and make a few resolutions and goals for 2009. This year I've decided to plan a few trips. My family lives in Tennessee, so I'm definitely going to board a plan with Sean to visit them for a week in the summer. I had such a good time last summer and I just can't imagine missing it, no matter how much I hate to fly. And since I'm conquering my fear of flying, I've also decided to try and save up some extra cash to take a weekend away from my life here to visit my friends in Florida...Just one long weekend at the beach, catching up with some college friends I've missed. Ryan and I will be having our first year wedding anniversary in June, so hopefully we'll have a romantic getaway together too.

My biggest goal is to have another baby before next Christmas. Since pregnancy is very hard on your body, the usual get healthy applies this year, especially since I've slacked off on exercising since the summer came to an end. I want to take up yoga, since it's great for the body and the mind! I'd also like to put the holiday food behind me and really start eating healthy foods.

For smaller accomplishments, I want to get lost in a romantic movie once a week (and that includes all the black & white classics I've always been meaning to see someday). I want to always have a latest book I'm reading and I want to catch up on Sean's scrapbook. I want to start a notebook, filled with ideas for interior/exterior decorating to keep for when we finally purchase our own home (by narrowing down my ideas, I will kill two birds with one stone, since the ideas are coming from magazines cluttering my closets!).

Happy New Year to all, and good luck to all of you who've also thought out the resolutions you'd like to accomplish this new year.
