The stern of the New Brighton pirate ship

Walking along the riverside in New Brighton we came upon this huge pirate ship made out of driftwood and lots of other beach rubbish. It's a great playground for the children and a cracking piece of folk art. Later we visited a small park further along the riverside full of constructions made from found objects, sculptures of hares, horses, cows at full size and many fairy houses and odd-ball creations. Chatting to one of the makers, who lives in the park-keepers cottage where people leave him toys and objects for new sculptures. It's all great fun and a huge attraction in the park. Long may they carry on.
