The disused Cosalt factory...
...in North Shields... for derelict Sunday today. This is where all the waterproofs for the fishing industry used to be made. Sadly, there isn't much of a fishing industry left...
Took boogie's advice and avoided the honeypots of the North of the Tyne - it was heaving today! We just about managed to get a seat in Gareth's for a coffee, then rode our two refurbed bikes to the ferry and took them across the river to South Shields ( see extras - and just so you know, we weren't the ones told off for riding our bikes on the ferry walkways ) ;)
A quiet riverside cycleway to the beach - time for a 99 - but then we didn't get much further as it was heaving in South Shields too! Came back via Herd Groyne and watched the conclusion of a training session with singlehanded RSAs ( see extras again ) and then back via Tanner's Bank ( tested the gears ) and a cuppa :)
Think the sky and the red lighthouse are colourful enough for hobbs challenge too - though I confess I haven't managed the whole month...
