Now, as I see it......

Yorkshire Camels

I reckon most Yorkshiremen get the hump from time to time, so here's two.

We set off from the hotel fairly early. I hate driving on the M6 and will do nearly anything to avoid it, and as taking the cross-Pennine route from Penrith to Scotch Corner only adds five miles and ten minutes to the journey, we went that way. The plan was to stop at Scotch Corner Services for a coffee and breakfast but about four miles before we got there we passed a farm shop and cafe which looked interesting so we stopped there instead. It was Mainsgill Farm Shop; I'm sure it is well known locally but for us, it was a great find. Being Mothers Day the cafe was busy but the food was good, and the farm shop had a really good choice and at very good prices too; we ended up stocking up for the week ahead! Outside, there was a lambing shed where we saw some very newly born lambs, and a small selection of 'exotic' animals including Pygmy Goats, various Llamas and of course, camels. I've added an extra of some cute lambs, and a contender for the 'Rhea of the Year' award.

Now home, unpacked, and relaxed. It is a hell of a long way to drive but worth it; we've had a good week.
