High Or Low Maintenance?

There are two ways of treating cedar fence boards:

1. Do nothing, and they will gradually develop a natural grey patina.

2. Stain them, but if you don't renew the treatment regularly, they will look something like this neighbor's fence -- depending on the color of your stain.

I prefer au naturel -- but I am not fond of painting or staining.
