The Fun Fair Has Definately Left Town

I couldn't let another day go by without featuring & reporting on the blaze that rampaged through Uckfield Town Centre during Sunday night.

On the grapevine it is said that the fire was started in a bin at the rear of the shops & it didn't take long before it spread to the second floors of these string of shops & the sky became an orange haze. The Police, the Fire Brigade & a host of shocked onlookers were quick to attend the scene, while the rest of the town slept blissfully unaware (me included). What did Sense, British Heart Foundation, Halifax & Natural Nails do to hurt anyone?

As far as I'm aware no one was badly injured & so thankfully it was not as bad as it could easily have been. Apparently the building at the end is listed & all the buildings will have to be demolished & rebuilt.

Uckfield FM reported this afternoon that 3 teenagers are being held in custody & are awaiting questioning on a charge of arson with intent to endanger lives. It is a terrible shame & I, & I'm sure along with the rest of the town, hope that those rapscallions responsible get what's coming to them.

Just desserts have been well & truly ordered (a restaurant pun that doesn't really fit in?! I've clearly been working too much!.. well, you know what I mean).
