Back to the grime

The Caledonian sleeper rolled into London as dawn broke over the city. I don't usually get to see the industrial areas of London, and these railway maintenance yards looked very alien. Railway workers dressed in orange were replacing railtrack alongside the track my train was running on. Trains with commuters were travelling in the opposite direction - I pitied the suits for having to work on this day between Christmas and New Year. Luckily, my office shuts completely and I HAVE to take the time off.

It was a relief to arrive home and see that Whisky was quite happy (though he's following us around like a faithful dog), and the guinea-pig trio had been very well cared for. Thanks Fi! We walked to Herne Hill to stock up on a nice lunch, and ended up eating at a lovely deli there. F had the best scrambled eggs ever!

We finished off the day by watching Hellboy 2.
