Walking the Roof
The National Trust have embarked on a £5.4m project to replace the roof of The Vyne in Hampshire. As part of the project they have provided the public with a unique opportunity to watch the work from a walkway built round the building at roof level. One of the things that struck me was the jumble of roofs - something that is not obvious from the ground. The one in the foreground of my image demonstrates the need for this work if the Trust is to preserve this Tudor building visited by Henry VIII and Anne Bolyn in 1535. A couple more in extras
