Now, as I see it......

Oh, what a beautiful morning....

I was up early this morning and saw the 6.30am ferry to Scrabster leaving the harbour just as the sun was rising. I quickly pulled on some clothes and went out to take a few shots. The ferry had hardly gone past when the sky went very dark and we got a really heavy hailstorm followed by snow, which completely covered the ground; I've added an extra taken only five minutes after my main shot. Fortunately, it soon cleared and later in the day we visited the superb Neolithic village at Skara Brae which is around 5,000 years old; I've added a couple of extras of the houses in the village that have been excavated. Finally, we drive up to the Brough of Birsay, an island off the top North West corner of Orkney Mainland which can be reached by a causeway at low tide. Unfortunately, the tide was just coming in and starting to cover the causeway but the sea was spectacular as it broke over the rocks on either side; one more extra.
