What an awful day, not merely weatherwise but also, there seems to have been a terrorist attack in London.

We are realising that one week is nowhere near long enough for our stay in May. Friends appeared on Monday with some tourist leaflets.

Tonight we are having John round for supper - I don't know him very well, but I was very fond of his wife Marjorie, who died a few weeks ago after a catastrophic stroke. John is 80 - it must be very lonely for him, but he says he is ok.
