Through the round window

In Morat/Murten, where the ferries don't run on Mondays in September :-(

So we walked on the walls, which enabled teh town to withstand a seige for 13 days in 1479, allowing an army to come from Bern and defeat the forces of Charles, Duke of Burgundy resulting in one of the most important victories for the Swiss confederation.

Allegedly 10,000 French soldiers were sluaghtered, which must have been considerably more than the population of Morat at the time. Walls made a difference.
