If My House Were a Boat
If life itself floating in a home on the water does not bring one enough pleasure, one can always allow their children to jump off from the roof for a bit more joy.
We awoke this morning to the most perfect weather of the year. With not a cloud in the sky nor hint of humidity in the air, the weather promised and came true to be 88 degrees and sunny. As we ate breakfast and planned out our route and adventures on the water for most of this day, I received a phone call from the office that occupied most of our planned day off. Eventually, well into the afternoon, we escaped onto the water for one hour of our planned five-hour cruise. All in all, it was a short but extremely fun boat ride and the scenery filled our eyes with amazement and the jokes were so good and so bad that we all laughed without regard.
With such a short day on the water, I wanted to enjoy the scenes of the limited day outdoors in ways other than through the lens of my camera. So, the only time I pulled my camera from my bag was for five blips of this family frolicking on a classic Mid-western boathouse. They clearly were living Labor Day as it was meant to be. I loved how the expressions of all three family members seemed to portry equal and unquestionable joy. It is a bit better in large.
After our boat ride, the girls frolicked on the beach a bit as Bonnie and I packed the car to head south. Tomorrow Gabriella starts her first day of third grade and it pains me to think of how quickly these precious years with our daughter's are passing. Bonnie and I just want to hit the pause button of life for a bit.
Due to the interruptions of work, I was not near a computer today for matters of pleasure such as blip. But, I do want to thank you for another day of unending kindness that you have cast my way. I hope to have a bit more time to catch up with you all whilst I am on the road and way from my family this week.
