Canterbury cathedral
The journey down to Canterbury was uneventful. In the afternoon we walked into the city and decided to go to evensong. The choir was magnificent. We couldn't wander around the cathedral as the vergers would only let people attending the service into the choir stalls. If you want to wander around you have to pay the £12 fee which as a churchgoer I find a little irritating. I feel sorry for those who do pay at the moment as the church resembles a building site with extensive work on the outside and inside. I found the city had changed a lot from when I attended school there. The quaint little streets now just seem full of cafes, tourist shops and boutiques.
