Mum's family
Today is the first day of Spring, and in 1906 my mum was born.
I was looking through some of her old photos, and found these taken in 1930 when she was on holiday in Cornwall.
The picnic was at Castle an Dinas. They all seem to be tucking in!
Especially mum who is kneeling up at the back.
The other photo is of mum, sat in the Morab gardens Penzance, eating an ice cream.
The bottom one is of my great grandmother, taken in her garden. Just 2 miles from where we stayed last week.
I wish I knew who the other people were having the picnic, and how they traveled there, as it was about 35 miles from my great grandmother's house. I know they didn't have a car.
How I wish I had asked my mum so many things when she was here, but I expect we all wish the same.
I did find out that the grave in Breage churchyard was that of my mum's father's mother and father-in-law. My 3rd great grandparents.
I don't think my mum knew it was there. In fact she would be surprised what I have found out about my Cornish relatives.
Any how it is good to have all these old photos, even if I don't know who's who.
We have never been to Castle an Dinas, so is on the list for next year!
