MeriRand & the NW Passage

A Touch of the Outdoors

Jason and I stopped at Phipps today- which was my first time back in many months. Because my free student pass only works during the school year, I usually miss out on the splendor of the butterfly room, but this year they have not yet senesced. It was my first experience with the new Indian tropical rainforest exhibit as well (which replaced the Brazilian exhibit while I was away). Phipps is still looking good as ever!

There were many visitors who were speaking a mystery language. My suspicions of it's French-iness were confirmed when I saw the side of their tour bus - Quebec Tours. French may by my next language afterall... :)

After Jason packed up, I knitted with Colleen in a little park area near my house. A man stopped by with his guitar and serenaded us through our i-chords and knit-stitches. Overall, it was a very peaceful Labor Day and I'm very grateful for the rest. After typing this, I shall get back to work! And hopefully finish up a couple of tasks before heading to bed for a full day of work.
