McClellan Meadows
Not far from Indian Heaven and Mt. Adams, we parked at Koshko Sno-Park and strapped on our snowshoes. We walked along a snow covered logging road to this lovely, silent winter meadow. The sun broke through clouds casting light and shadow on the tracks of showshoe hare, squirrel, and elk. After consulting our maps, we entered the forest and followed the blue diamonds marking Klintz trail. Crunching through the deep snow beneath pines, we circled back to the logging road. A wonderful escape from the city for the day.
