Water 'Skin'

Spent the day doing basic experiments. Me and a friend of mine get together on a regular basis as all the kids (she is home schooling 4 boys) get on. We do projects and experiments together. Our experiment was about the 'skin' on water. This photo captures it best. First we put pennies in the glass to see how many we could put in until the skin broke. Then we balanced a needle, this was so tricky but well worth doing. Once the needle was balance on the skin we looked through the magnifying glass to see how the water supported the needle.

The other experiments we done were all based on Solid, Liquid and Gas.

Off to walk across the top of Tower Bridge tomorrow, haven't done that for years.
