State Control
MONDAY
I spent a couple of hours at the Imperial War Museum.
The museum is currently hosting a number of thought provoking exhibitions:
The blip shows part of an exhibition by Edmund Clarke "War of Terror". It includes images of CIA secret prisons or "black sites", photographs from Guantanamo Bay, evidence of rendition flights and details of psychological and physical manipulation at a "control house" in suburban England.
A second exhibition "Secret War" explores the undercover world of espionage and covert operations by British Special Forces and MI6 including exhibits of previously "classified objects".
The third exhibition "Holocaust Exhibition" was by far the most moving with graphic details of the Nazi persecution and mass murder of the Jewish people of Europe from 1933 to 1954.
On my way back to the hotel after dinner in Pimlico, I walked over Vauxhall Bridge blipping the awful architecture of the present day MI6 HQ (see extra). Lit up at night, it reminds me of a Space Invader.
