Friday night out

The Highways Department decided to close the road outside the village hall from 6.30 pm this last Friday night. This vehicle arrived and the men jumped out, laughing and chatting, to put up this sign. Further up towards the bend, they began working on the road - and finished after 11.30 pm. 
I don't know what they were doing, but that was their Friday night gone!
