Leaves from my (abridged) Tuscan cookbook

We had a very nice visit from some friends who came up to the house with a collection of cakes. The sun shone fitfully and we sat in the garden. 

Later I roasted a Guinea Fowl from the local co-op. I threw in some big pieces of fennel, an onion and these red mountain potatoes that turned out to be delicious. The food was good with a local Chianti from the Florentine Hills. Later we watched Ireland beat England in the rugby on the iplayer.
