Amaryllis belladonna...

...native to the Western Cape of South Africa and introduced into cultivation at the beginning of the 18th century a hybrid was bred in Australia in the 1800s.
Pretty in Fifty shades of pink as it is bloomingly gorgeous in gardens but much less welcome on roadsides and in bushlands and forests where it is considered an invasive weed or a sleeper plant.

In our garden their blooming heralds the arrival of autumn and Easter, and one of the many names it bears the Easter Lily...as well as Marach, Jersey and the naked lady lily.
