MonoMonday: Community

I'm giving myself the Monday break from CMC17 (as originally allowed for in the challenge) to participate in Skeena's MonoMonday topic: Community.

Blackheath's Community Centre arose from local subscriptions and from the earnings of our long running Rhododendron Festival. It is truly a grand old place and has been the focus for countless local initiatives over so many years. Heaven only knows what we'd do without the place.

Originally opened in 1906, the building has been expanded, embellished and maintained over the generations and is currently undergoing some significant internal updates. The outside probably looks a little nicer than this antique processing suggests but it possibly needs some painting and minor repairs (here and there) just the same.
