Ruby Slippers

I guess it's happening. My mom must be going into other residents' rooms and walking off, literally, with their stuff. Mom was wearing these red slip-on sandals when I got there, quite fashionable with her black and gray hiking socks. I said I wanted to see what brand they were and saw instead which resident they belonged to: VR, from the other side of the facility.

After dinner I checked mom's toenails and applied lotion to her feet and legs and told Paul, in Spanish so mangled that even a native wouldn't know what I was talking about, to take the shoes to the front desk.

Does it matter? I have been told this happens a lot. Staff know how to handle it, I guess. Hence labeling everything.
