An ordinary life....

This Old House...

Backblip

Oh my heavens! There are almost no words to describe the joy of waking up when your body has had enough sleep instead of to the sound of an alarm clock!

Some of us were up and ready before others (I'm sorry, just because my body woke up of its own accord, doesn't mean it was actually ready to get out of bed :-)))

We were all ready by midday though and off out for some lunch.  Found ourselves at Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop.   Books and food under one roof!  What a find.  It is amazing!

The weather was pretty miserable but the welcome in the cafe was warm and the smells mouthwatering.  Lunch was delicious (don't be fooled by David's soup.  He was also having a large seeded roll with goats cheese, beetroot and honey and a salad) and we couldn't resist staying on in the warmth beside the log burner, for coffee and cake (raspberry, yogurt and coconut for me :-)

Back out into the rain to look in the Homer shop that's part of the set up.  Could have spent a fortune but only bought two grey dishes for the garden room as a momento of the weekend.

Afterwards we piled into the car and decided to go where the road took us.  We all laughed heartily when we passed through a wee place called Dull and saw a sign saying it was twinned with a town called Boring in Oregon USA!  I've since discovered it's also twinned with Bland in New South Wales, Australia.  Someone has a sense of humour :D

Decided to leave the main road and follow a single track road to see where that took us.  That's where we stumbled upon the strange little house that is my blip.  Unfortunately my camera was in the boot of the car so it's just a phone shot.  I would have loved to explore it more (it appeared empty) but it was too wet for me and my camera.

Interesting drive that brought is in to Kenmore.

We'd been full of plans for a busy day exploring today but the weather and the fact we were really in the mood to relax saw us heading back to Aberfeldy and the cosy lodge.  On the way we stopped at the Three Lemons in Aberfeldy and booked a table for 7.30pm.

By 7.15pm we were all very settled where we were and not particularly keen to go back out but I am so glad we did.  The food was amazing!  I had sticky pork ribs to start, followed by lamb, garlic baby potatoes and spring veg.  Sticky toffee pudding  to finish.  We will definitely be back there!

Back to the lodge to play cards only we were all full of blethers and spent the time chatting, laughing and night capping.   So good!

We all wished we were there for longer but alas it wasn't to be.  Off to bed with no luxury of being alarm free the following morning.
